The “Ladies’ Château”, built across the River Cher and shaped by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de’ Medici, with its gallery spanning the water. Here you’ll find which Château de Chenonceau tickets to buy, the weather during opening hours, opening times and tips for your visit.
Château de Chenonceau tickets: which one to choose
One ticket covers the château, gardens and galleries. You visit at your own pace, with a guide leaflet or an audio guide.
Official ticket – €19 with leaflet (€24 with audio guide; over-65s €16, students €16, ages 7–18 €15, under 7 free). Buy it on the official Chenonceau website.
Entry ticket on Tiqets – from €19. Same price, parking included, with cancellation until 11:59 pm the day before.
Loire Valley château pass on Tiqets – from €52.50. Chenonceau, Chambord and a third château: Blois, Clos Lucé or Amboise.
Day trips from Paris on Tiqets – from €135. Return coach and entry to Chambord, Chenonceau and Cheverny in one day (€155 with audio guide, €185 with a live English-speaking guide).
Our pick: the Tiqets entry ticket, which costs the same as the official one but can be cancelled until the evening before. On a multi-château trip, the pass gets you Chambord too in one purchase.
Staying in Paris without a car? A day trip is the easiest option: three castles in one day, without juggling trains and shuttles. We recommend the audio guide version (€155), a good balance of price and commentary; the €135 trip suits you if you prefer to explore alone, and the €185 one if you want a live guide. Departure at 7:00 am, back in the evening, lunch not included.

Château de Chenonceau in the rain: what changes
The château is indoors: the furnished rooms and the Grand Gallery over the river.
Outdoors: the gardens of Diane and Catherine, the maze and the entrance avenue.
Covered picnic area: next to the Green Car Park.
Cancellation: the Tiqets ticket can be cancelled until the evening before, handy if the forecast gets worse.

In summer the château stays open until 7 pm: late afternoon is calmer.
An hour-by-hour crowd estimate is coming later, always marked as an estimate and with its source.
