Malbork Castle tickets: which one to choose

The official ticket already includes an audio guide in English. It’s the cheapest and most complete way to see the castle.

  • Historical Castle Route – 80 PLN (reduced 60 PLN; families 70 PLN per adult and 60 PLN per child aged 7–18; under 7 free). The whole castle, with an audio guide in English and many other languages, or a guide in Polish. Buy it on the official museum website.
  • Castle Grounds Route – 35 PLN. Courtyards, St Anne’s Chapel, terraces and moat, but no rooms or exhibitions. Free on Mondays, when it’s the only route open.
  • Half-day trip from Gdańsk on GetYourGuide – from €95. Hotel pickup, entry and audio guide, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before.

Our pick: the train from Gdańsk and the official ticket. The audio guide is included, so there’s no need to pay for a tour to understand the visit. The trip from Gdańsk makes sense if you want hotel pickup and no transport to organise.

Buy your ticket online in advance: entry is capped at 500 people per hour.

Malbork Castle in the rain: what changes

Most of the Historical Route is indoors: the halls, refectories, chapels and exhibitions of the High and Middle Castle.

  • Outdoors: the passages between the castle sections, the courtyards, the terraces and the moat.
  • Wind: the area is flat and open, and the castle faces the river, so bring a jacket even in summer.
  • Cancellation: the GetYourGuide trip can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before.

Queues and crowds

  • The castle caps entry at 500 people per hour: in summer and at weekends, book your time slot online.
  • Mornings are calmer, before the day trips from Gdańsk arrive.
  • In winter, last entry to the Historical Route is at 12:45 pm, so arrive early.

An hour-by-hour crowd estimate is coming later, always marked as an estimate and with its source.
